So frakin\u2019 keep sneering at me and my low-rise Chucks.<\/p>\n<p>ROGUE WAVE :: Asleep at Heavens Gate<br \/>\nRegardless of what you think of them now, reminds me of the good-vibe repeat-playability of when I first heard Shins.<\/p>\n<p>PANDA BEAR :: Person Pitch<br \/>\nFar and away the most original clutch of new songs all year.\u00a0 Even if it did sound like a long weekend locked in Brian Wilsons bathroom with 4 parts Roland, 5 parts blotter.<\/p>\n<p>GABRIEL YARED &amp; UNDERWORLD :: Breaking &amp; Entering soundtrack<br \/>\nBest most elegant pairing since Holmes and Soderbergh.<\/p>\n<p>DARJEELING LIMITED :: Soundtrack<br \/>\nAndersons\u2019 prowess with music patched &amp; mapped to edits &amp; slowmo is undeniable, regardless of how the film sat with you.\u00a0 The album is by itself wonderful, and at times, a nice blend of plucky old-world and culturally grating.<\/p>\n<p>ULRICH SCHNAUSS :: Goodbye<br \/>\nWhat My Bloody Valentine might have sounded like if they did heroin.\u00a0 Oh, wait\u2026 Nevermind.<\/p>\n<p>KILN :: Dusker<br \/>\nOn Repeat, best music to which you should read No Country for Old Men during a 5-day jaunt from Houston to Austin to San Antonio then back to Houston.<\/p>\n<p>TEGAN &amp; SARA :: The Con<br \/>\nAgain with the singer songwriting chicks from O Canadia.\u00a0 And identical twins?\u00a0 With sleeve tattoos?\u00a0 [scurries off to bathroom]<\/p>\n<p>UNDERWORLD :: Oblivion with Bells<br \/>\nNot as solid a post-Emerson release as 100 Days Off, but an incredible package of songs.\u00a0 There\u2019s a low-fi theme album in here somewhere.\u00a0 I just haven\u2019t yet sussed it out.<\/p>\n<p>KINGS OF LEON :: Because of the Times<br \/>\nMade me want to throw a half-emptied jar of moonshine out the speeding window of a maroon Caprice with a black door.\u00a0 Had me revisiting in-car volumes not heard since TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS.<\/p>\n<p>RICHARD BUTLER :: Self titled<br \/>\nOld pipes &amp; general homely-dood from Psych Furs\/LSL.\u00a0 You grew up to this mans voice.\u00a0 Listen to what the man does with a home studio and all the free time those royalty checks must provide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SINGLES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FUJIYA &amp; MIYAGI :: Conductor 71<\/p>\n<p>INTERPOL :: Rest my Chemistry (anyone else get those distinct traits of Pixies Where is my Mind?)<\/p>\n<p>AMY WHOREHOUSE :: Valerie (insert however much credit to Ronson you wish)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Some disappointments:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nBLONDE REDHEAD :: 23<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Best of 2007, summed up solely upon Play Count, yet in no particular sort&#8230; ALBUMS BAND OF HORSES :: Cease to Begin I will not apologize for how naturally well these hicks perfectly fit the notches in my musical tastes.\u00a0 Nor will I apologize for my low-grade addiction to adverbs.
